We love enjoying the ocean at any chance; even on cloudy days, you can still have a good experience. So here we give you several reasons not to be afraid of cloudy days, valid ones so that you will enjoy your charter even on days like this.
We promise it is worth it!
The views are still spectacular.
Who says you can’t have a good view with a few clouds while on the charter? The contrast between the shadows makes something different to watch. Another plus is that you won’t be directly exposed to the sun. (But this doesn’t mean you don’t have to wear sunscreen. You still need it, even on cloudy days).
Diffuse lighting can be ideal for photography, as clouds act as a natural filter, softening shadows and bringing out colors more balanced.
Clouds don’t always mean rain.
The sky could be a little grey, but that doesn’t mean it will rain (most of the time); sometimes, it even rains in the city (Panama), and there’s no rain on the islands. So don’t let this be an excuse. Any day is a good day to do something different, so you better take it!
No intense heat!
Cloudy weather is usually cooler than sunny days, making the yacht experience more comfortable for those who prefer moderate temperatures.
There is better fishing on grey days than on sunny days.
During cloudy days, insects and other organic materials are knocked into the water, attracting fish, who stay closer to the surface to catch them.
Also, on cloudy days, certain marine species may be more active. You might be lucky enough to spot dolphins, turtles or other sea creatures that enjoy the cooler conditions.
There are no waves, and that makes the trip more pleasant.
When the deep ocean is cloudy, the waves are calmer than on a sunny day. So you will enjoy the ride and won’t be worried about the waves.
The boat can go faster in the serene sea.
When the sky is cloudy or there is rain, the breeze decreases, allowing the boat to go at a higher speed. This gives you more chances to enjoy more ground.
Don’t miss the chance to photograph the city in the background; even with a few clouds, you can take a fantastic photo!
Remember that, ultimately, the key to enjoying a yacht ride on cloudy days is to stay positive and take advantage of the opportunities offered by that day’s particular weather.
