If you’re thinking about booking a private yacht tour to Las Perlas, but have some questions, here are some of the most common ones:
Are Las Perlas and Contadora the same thing?
The Las Perlas archipelago has more than 200 islands and islets, including Contadora Island, the most popular. If you’d like to visit Contadora Island, this trip can include it. Contadora Island has several beaches to enjoy. But there are also other islands that may be more interesting to you.
Does the Las Perlas tour include the Canal Surroundings Tour?
No, but you have the option to add it to your itinerary or add extra hours to your tour to complement it with a walk around the Canal Surroundings on the way out or back to your destination and pass under the Bridge of the Americas.
Can you see whales at Las Perlas?
Yes, whale watching is possible during whale season (June through November). Dates may vary depending on year-round temperatures and tides.
Is the pool included?
No. Pool use is not included in the regular price to allow our guests to customize their trip. You can add a pool or kayak depending on your preferences. Snorkeling equipment is included in all trips.
Do the prices include gas?
Yes. Gas, passenger insurance, docking fees, and operating costs are included. Ice and fishing equipment are also included.
Do the tours include food?
No. Tours include complimentary drinks (water, juices, Gatorade, and beer). Gem Charters offers catering for an additional fee.
Can juices be substituted for sodas (or other beverages)?

Can food be included?
Yes, with our private yacht charter service to Las Perlas, you can choose the catering service offered by Gem Charters, either on the 4-hour or 8-hour tour.
What does the menu include?

Starter: Chips with dip / Fresh ceviche with the catch of the day (in case the group on board wishes to fish).
Lunch: Meat and chicken skewers, corn on the cob, arepas, and chorizos.
Dessert: 100% natural tropical fruit salad, mini donuts.
*We also offer Kosher and Vegan options.
Can I bring my own food or drinks? Are there any additional charges?
You may bring your own food or drinks, including alcoholic beverages, at no additional charge. We only ask that you please refrain from bringing glass containers on board for the safety of all passengers and crew.
Is there a discount if the boat is under capacity?
No. Gem Charters offers private yacht charters to Las Perlas. The prices offered are for the full charter of the boat. This means you will have exclusive use of the boat, regardless of the number of passengers you invite on your tour. At this time, per-person passes are not offered on tours to Las Perlas.
Can I play my own music?
Yes, all our boats are equipped to connect via Bluetooth to the marine sound system. We recommend having the music you want to listen to downloaded on your device (cell phone or tablet) as at certain distances from the coast, devices will not be able to connect to the mobile network.
What items should I bring that aren’t on the boat?
Sunscreen. If you are prone to seasickness, we recommend bringing your medication. Don’t forget to bring towels, and a change of clothes. If you’re planning to request catering, bring cutlery (spoons or forks) and disposable tableware (glasses, plates, etc.).
